Perfectly Soft Boiled Egg

20 November 2020

My father gave me this little musical egg cooker, you boil it with the egg in the pan and it plays 3 different tunes to let you know if the eggs are soft, medium or hard boiled. It’s a fun little thing, but to be honest quite annoying after a while, and also a little lazy. Especially if making the perfect medium to soft boiled egg (my favourite) is actually very easy!

Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • Bowl of ice water

Instructions

1

Bring a pot of water to the boil.

2

Carefully add the eggs cold from the fridge and boil for exactly 6.5 minutes.

3

When done place in bowl filled with water and ice cubes for a minimum of 2 minutes.

4

To peel I like to crack the shell all over by tapping it on a plate or chopping board.

5

Peel and serve warm.

Notes

You can use eggs straight from the fridge for this.
