Oozy, gooey, salty, sweet, crispy goodness. Oh my…
This is such a great little recipe, you can’t really call it a recipe to be honest, but certainly delivers!
Baked Brie in Puff Pastry with Cranberry Compote
Ingredients
- 1 large sheet puff pastry (or 9 small squares), defrosted (see notes)
- 1 wheel of brie or camembert
- 1 tbsp cranberry compote (any compote or chutney will work)
- 1 egg, whisked
- 1 tsp nigella seeds (optional)
- 1 tsp fennel seeds (optional)
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
2
Roll out a large sheet of defrosted puff pastry or attach 6 small squares.
3
Lay a circle of brie or camembert in the middle. Top off with some cranberry compote and fold all the sides over to make a sealed package.
4
Brush the puff pastry brie package with whisked egg and, if you like, sprinkle some flavourings on top. I used nigella and fennel seeds.
5
Bake in the oven for 40 - 45 minutes until nice and golden and crispy.
6
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with a simple fresh salad.
